The association was born from a managerial studies idea of the fifth class (section B) of the William Orlando Darby Institute, a superior school located in the town of Cisterna di Latina, in Italy.
The course of study in the economic-managerial direction provides for demonstration on the part of students of their ability to set up a business, for completion of their professional preparation. Teachers and students together have chosen to create a non-profit business. |

At the moment of establishing the business aim or purpose none of us had doubts about the choice of a cultural aim, that is, to inform, promote, and attract public interest in cultural events and culture itself.
The issue presented itself when, as president of the association, I proposed dance as the essence and most vital part of culture. Dance, as a curricular subject, is not provided for in any curriculum of studies, except for schools that prepare dancers for the profession of dancing. Therefore it is rarely seen as an expression of art in the same league as poetry, painting, or music. |

But we, generation of the second half of the 1900's, have had the great fortune of having lived with the person who represents the essence of dance itself: Rudolf Nureyev.
Everything has been deeply touched by him. Everyone knows the great late dancer, even if only by name. His very difficult and yet very luminous life has made him a legend. We have dedicated our work to Rudolf Nureyev, with the intention of keeping his memory alive. With this aim the association will not be only the object of analysis for the final exam of the class, that with much humility and seriousness has elaborated this project, but will have a true existence as an entity in and of itself. In the name of Nureyev, the art of dance will be promoted with different cultural initiatives, such as reviews, conventions, internships, and publications. I thank in advance whoever would like to support the association. Even if just in thought, it will be undoubtedly an incentive to carry forward this work.I thank in advance all of those who understand photos or paintings and would like to allow their use, in a cultural and not in a commercial scope.
